CEREC CROWNS

Cerec is a computer controlled system that brings high tech dentistry to our office and convenience to you. In just one visit to our office Cerec fabricates attractive and long lasting crowns, onlays or inlays. Using conventional methods, these restorations require making a mold of your tooth, a temporary fabrication in two appointments with anesthesia at both appointments. Using a high tech camera, an optical impression is made which is transferred to the Cerec computer to make a digital restoration. This restoration is then milled out of a ceramic block in only a matter of minutes. The custom made restoration is then bonded into place, all in just one visit.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental Implants are the optimum replacement for missing teeth. A Dental Implant provides not only an esthetic solution, but a secure, permanent artificial tooth both above and below the gum line. The procedure is initiated by placing a titanium screw in the jaw bone to replace the root. Bone then grows around the threads of the screw or implant. This is known as Osseointegration. The healing process takes 4-6 months.

Once Osseointegration is complete, a specially made post is attached to the implant. The final step is the fabrication of a custom- made tooth which is bonded to the post for an excellent cosmetic and functional “tooth”.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY

Dental x-rays help us identify any problem which may be forming within your teeth or bone. Although the use of radiation is minimal, many patients have concerns about dental x-rays. At Delisle Dental Group, we use the latest in digital dental radiography which reduces the amount of radiation exposure by up to 90%. The image appears on a computer monitor where we can then explain to our patients about any dental concerns.

DENTAL VENEERS

If your teeth are discoloured, worn, chipped or have spaces, porcelain veneers are a simple and easy way of correcting these common dental problems. Veneers are custom made pieces of porcelain that are bonded to teeth to improve their shape and appearance. This procedure usually takes two appointments (one week apart), and provides our patients with dramatic improvements in their smiles.

DENTAL BONDING

White non-mercury fillings in molars have traditionally been made of amalgam. Amalgam fillings are metal fillings that can discolour teeth over time. Dental bonding, however, uses a material called composite which results in fillings that are matched to your natural tooth colour. In addition, the bonding substance used to adhere these fillings into your tooth will strengthen your tooth and provide you with restorations which usually last between 10-12 years.

ORAL HYGIENE/SCALING & ROOT PLANING

Tooth brushing and flossing helps to remove the daily accumulation of tartar. However, to prevent the formation of decay and periodontal disease, professional scaling and root planning are essential. Dental Hygienists scale your teeth to remove any build-up of plaque on your teeth and under the gum line to maintain your dental and periodontal good health. Our specially trained hygienists have many years of experience in dentistry, and they provide our patients with outstanding oral hygiene care.

ROOT CANAL THERAPY

Root canal therapy is a procedure whereby an inflamed or abscessed nerve is cleaned out and disinfected to remove bacteria. The canal space that houses the nerve is then shaped and filled with gutta percha, a rubbery material that is used to seal it to complete the procedure. A crown is then placed to prevent the tooth from fracturing in the future. At Delisle Dental Group, Dr. Farzaneh, an endodontic specialist, is specially trained to take care of all your endodontic needs.

TISSUE REGENERATION

Periodontal disease caused by plaque and tartar can cause the destruction of jawbone and subsequent weakening of teeth. Guided tissue regeneration is designed to restore supporting bone lossed to periodontal disease. Placing a bone regenerating material called Emdogain in the defect around the tooth, the lost bone and attachment can be replaced to restore the overall health of the tooth and surrounding bone.

Dr. Golden, our Periodontist at Delisle Dental Group has many years of experience in periodontics and would be happy to tend to any of your periodontal needs.
